Notes: Nederlands-Indië Eskader (Netherlands East Indies Squadron) comprised the major warships in the area. It was theoretically directly subordinate to the Royal Netherlands Navy, (a part of the Government-in-Exile in London), which had assigned it to the Commander, Naval Forces Netherlands East Indies.
